lyrics

my story takes place some years ago
i went to see the terrorvision show
they played alice what’s the matter and the song about drinking
the tequila that was flowing and clouding my thinking
i should have known right from the start
not to fall in love on a broken heart
then again it’s not as if i was looking for it
i was just watching the band i couldn’t ignore it
then i saw a sign i thought so angelic
atop of her head was a halo
i couldn’t breathe, couldn’t believe what i could see

she didn’t respond when i shot her a glance
and then the band sent a message of perseverance
i decided to find her after the show
i caught her at the bar while her defences were low
well everything was going alright for a while
but there was something wrong behind that smile
when i went back to the bar to get another beer
i started thinking back and it all became clear
i’d only seen the silhouette of angel
and atop of her head was just halogen
i couldn’t breathe, couldn’t believe what i could see
but i couldn’t see properly
i thought i’d fallen in love at first sight
but it must have been the retina burns from the strobe light
a trick of the heart, a trick of the light
i thought i’d fallen in love at first sight
but it must have been the retina burns from the strobe light
a trick of the heart, a trick of the light
it’s not that you’re not pretty that’s something we can fix
remember that to get terrorvision to number 1 took a remix
oh, you’re gonna lose your mind when you’re going blind
oh

i thought i’d fallen in love at first sight
but it must have been the retina burns from the strobe light
a trick of the heart caused by a trick of the light
i thought i’d fallen in love at first sight
but it must have been the retina burns from the strobe light
a trick of the heart, a trick of the light

about

The Holy Orders Hull, UK

"Just when you've had it with Strokes/Interpol/Editors soundalikes along come The Holy Orders and restore your faith in indie guitar music" Tom Robinson (BBC 6music)

The Holy Orders were first told that their amps were too loud in 2006.
Since then, the four-piece from Hull have divided the opinions of many sound engineers.

The Holy Orders continue to be loud.
